GOLDEN AGE TOURNAMENT REPORT 2015
Congratulations to Paul Flanagan, this year’s winner of the Golden Age Snooker Championship. Paul defeated Alan McCarthy 4 frames to 1 in a very entertaining final. . Paul played consistently and solidly throughout and invariably made the most of the opportunities Alan left him.
Alan, in his customary style came out with some fine breaks and was unlucky on 81 to jaw the black to keep that break going.
Well done David Liu with 88 for high break of the tournament.
The tournament was conducted once again at Ramsgate RSL and we are all appreciative of the use of the snooker room and its facilities.
This is the fourth year of the tournament and the second of the involvement and support of Golden Age Group. Many thanks to Patrick and Golden Age for that support.
Thanks also must go to Georges River 16ft Sailing Club for the use of their club’s tables. Rick and Ken, thank you.
Carlie once again was in charge of proceedings at the Sailing Club on Saturday and many thanks for a job well done.
There were a few players who willingly offered to referee matches and to them, thank you.
Thank you to all the players who entered. You win some and you lose some but at the end of the day, I hope you enjoyed your snooker. Look forward to doing it all again next year.
