Sutherland Shire Snooker: Latest News
Shire Snooker News
26

We would like to thank everyone that participated in last weekend's SPM Snooker Tournament at Ramsgate RSL Club.
The tournament was very successful, with a lot of great snooker, great camaraderie and great fun.
With the addition of a few 'wildcard' entries and players from the Sutherland Shire Snooker Association, we had approximately 20 entrants with a $1000 prize pool.
Ali Ganji was the overall winner, defeating Ying Jin 4-2 in the final.
Ali fought through some tough matches to make the final, defeating Peter Doy in the quarters and Luke Hough in the semi.
Jin also had some great wins, defeating Brett Watson in the quarters and Paul Rameka in the semi.
Ali was certainly the most consistent throughout the tournament, also claiming the highest break prize for the weekend with an impressive 55 in his quarter final match.

Special thanks of course goes to our major sponsor, Scientific Pest Management. They provide us with much appreciated financial support, which helps keep our fantastic snooker club running.
Thanks to our mother club, Ramsgate RSL Memorial Club for their ongoing support and assistance.
We would also like to thank all those who helped out during the tournament, marking extra frames etc, and those who came along to watch. Without the support of our fellow snooker players, the tournament could not have been a success.
Michael Sharp from Sharp Snooker kindly donated some awesome prizes for our raffle - including a set of snooker balls, a set of billiard balls and plenty of accessories. Thank you Michael.
Metro Hotels also donated a night's accommodation for our lucky door prize.
Tournament Director, Stuart Tait did a brilliant job of organizing/running the tournament, whilst still managing to play. Thank you Stuart. Your hard work and dedication to snooker are very much appreciated.

Ramsgate RSL looks forward to hosting the SPM Snooker Tournament again in 2014. We hope to see even more of you there next year!

Thanks,
Carlie
